Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

About Saskia

Qualifications

I am supported by a deep and well-rounded understanding of therapeutic
interventions through a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy,
Masters of Criminology, Bachelor of Psychology, and Diploma of
Health Science (Naturopathy).

Non-vocationally, I have immersed myself in a variety of buddhist,
taoist, and other cultural cleansing rituals. I do not claim to know
all the answers, but I can give you my undivided attention, so you
can find your own.

Approach

I provide a present-minded counselling experience. This means supporting
clients wherever they are on their healing journey, and helping them to find the strength
and courage to keep moving forward, whatever the roadblocks might be. Emphasising empathy and responsiveness, my work guides clients in finding more space in their mind and spirit; to live more fully, more peacefully and more present in everyday life.  This approach has developed through my own personal experiences and understandings of the nature of life and its cycles.

Personal Philosophy

I love to read, listen and learn.

I have always chosen to follow what I enjoy doing. Growing up, I was blessed with spirit and imagination. My whole life has been a journey through the experiential offerings of this Earth; presented by working in different roles, traveling to different places, and speaking to many different people. Counselling has been my passion long before I had a word to describe it. I am guided by my inner voice, trusting the natural ebb and flow of life. Taoism and curiosity are the underpinning of my practice. If our paths cross, it is what was intended.
