Saskia Heydon

Specialised Counselling for Grief, Trauma & Adverse Childhood Experiences

About me

I am a Counsellor with 9 years experience working in client facing roles within community support, health, and healing professions. Working with grief, trauma, and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), I step into the spaces most strive to avoid. My other role has me supporting forensic clients; working through childhood adversities, addiction, socioeconomic disadvantage and serious mental illness. This work continues to inspire me, to understand how people confront life, and to create a strong container which holds space for healing.

I have worked in a variety different roles and listen to many different people. I have also spent many occasion sitting in ritual with other members of the community, to disclose, release, and revitalise. I am passionate about creating a more healed version of society. Everyone deserves to be listened to, and everyone deserves to love and be loved.

Qualifications

Grief is a part of life, as much as happiness.

Whether it is an expected loss of a family member, an unexpected loss of financial stability or physical ability, or a cumulation of challenges from adverse childhood experiences. At some point, we will all be touched by grief.

I support clients to process the releasing of grief and help them to find the strength and courage to keep moving forward. Emphasising kindness and responsivity, I guide clients to finding more space in their mind and spirit; to calm the effects of their grief and metabolise their suffering into something beautiful, sacred, and worthy of acknowledging.

These sessions allow you to honour your loss and grieve at your own pace, in an environment strong enough to hold your pain.
