Not everything is as it seems.
The lens through which we see the world is tainted. Our history of experiences have given us a perspective on the world that we are so close to, we hardly notice it permeating into our being. ‘Too close for comfort’ comes to mind for this concept. We view the world through what we believe to be right and wrong, but what if you learned that your right and wrong were also dictated by an underlying motive. What we determine to be right or wrong has been taught to us. The distinction between what makes us feel ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Fear or Joy. Our actions follow these distinctions because ultimately we all want to feel joy, and we all don’t want to feel fear. Learning that these rights and wrongs come from taught beliefs is the first step to breaking away or detaching from the comfort that is our ego. When we ‘know’ right and wrong, that is an attachment. Our ego likes to have clear distinctions of understanding to draw information from, to show that it is holier than thou. The goodest good, and certainly not bad. Admitting that we don’t know what is right or wrong requires humility, a quality that is only built through the deterioration of ego. This is because one must accept their faults to be humble, and one must forgo the ego to accept their faults.
However, to help with this process, know that the only real truth is that there is no ultimate truth. There is no true ‘right’ and no true ‘wrong’. There is never an ending without another beginning or a beginning without an end. There is only perspective, circumstance, and experience and each of these are only one part of the ultimate creation. How we choose to perceive our circumstances and experiences is the creation. Your inner experience is your outer experience. We are the creators of our reality.
So in a moment when you feel you cannot move forward, change your circumstances. Seek an alternative perspective and see how avenues begin to open up for you. You are not controlled by your past experiences, but your past experiences will control you if you let them. How do you wish to see the world?
