Making a Crystal Elixir

Elixirs from specific crystals can be used to enhance the healing of certain conditions or can be as simple as cleansing your drinking water. Traditionally they were used to balance charkas, remove excess energy and restore auras; they also help the physical body integrate healing processes.

Clear Quartz added to water will enhance its freshness, whereas other stones will change the taste in other ways. Before adding any crystals to an elixir, please cleanse them and check that they are not water or toxic. Water from crystal elixirs can be consumed or used topically over the next 24 hours.

There are two methods to making a crystal elixir.

Method One / Direct Method: Water friendly, non-toxic crystals

  1. Choose your crystal, cleanse it and place it in a glass or water container.

  2. Fill the container with water, preferably filter or mineral water from a pure source, however tap water is okay.

  3. Cover the container, place it in the fridge and leave overnight. The elixir is ready to use the next morning.

Method Two / Indirect Method: Water soluble, toxic crystals

  1. Choose your crystal, cleanse it and place it in a glass jar.

  2. Place the glass jar in a larger container, bowl or jug and fill the larger container with water, being careful not to wet the crystal in the smaller jar.

  3. Cover the container, place it in the fridge and leave overnight. The elixir is ready to use the next morning.

Quick elixirs are helpful to test what effects the crystal may have on you. Place a non-toxic, water friendly crystal (try Clear Quartz, Rose Quartz or Amethyst) in water and leave for 20-30 minutes. Have a plain glass of water next to it and taste the two to see if you notice a difference.

To me, an Amethyst elixir tastes tangy in the back of my mouth, Rose Quartz elixir feels lovely to drink, like a warm heart hug. And Clear Quartz improves the sharp freshness of the water.
