Until you make the unconscious conscious …
“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
There are few things we truly know. There are the things we know we know, the things we know we don’t know and then, deep in our unconscious, there are the things we don’t know we don’t know. These unknown influencers are what cause us to behave in certain ways to certain people or in certain scenarios. Even when we are fully conscious of ourselves, there are still these unknown forces at play, but by remaining conscious in every day life, we are able to notice our unconscious permeating through into reality and instead observe it without it impacting our interactions.
When we are not being self-conscious, meaning conscious of the self, we are not being aware of our behaviours and attitudes towards others. We are not observing ourselves and not filtering out these unconscious influences. We are not fully there and that is how these influences direct life. Though, there is a fine line between fate in this manner and fate as it is destined to be. Fate is what was always meant to happen, not what we wish to happen or what we will make happen, but what will happen regardless of everything.
There is little we can control in life. We are born into this body and this mind, this mindset and this spirit. If you can let go of the idea that you are meant to be someone or something, that you are of some extra importance or of little importance, let go of anything other than the knowledge that you are you, right now. As fate determined it to be. You can then control this moment. The only tangible time that exists outside of spoken language. Control the self, the thoughts, the actions, the interactions. Control the spirit, the mind and the body. This moment is where you will find your direction, your fate.
There is only one way and that is forward. Trust yourself to have made and to make the decisions that are right for you regardless of how they are perceived in the mind. Once you are conscious of your own happenings, you will be directed towards your purpose. Subsequently, your fate will not be something that is happening to you, but one that you have been actively engaged in. One that you have been conscious of the whole journey and one you can be satisfied with.
Those unconscious parts of your life will still be there, but you are able to see them clearer and quicker. You will recognise the moments as they permeate into reality and actively work to change them or find positivity in them. Leave behind your preconceived ideas for newer ones to arise.
